RIM Compensates Blackberry Customers
Research in Motion (RIM) has offered their business customers, referred to as Blackberry Enterprise Customers, free technical support for one month as compensation for the three day outage this month.
The outages resulted in their customers being unable to access a number of Blackberry services, including e-mails and Blackberry Messenger (BBM), two of the main services that attract their customers. The outage effected Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa before spreading to the US and Canada.
All users (business and personal) will also be offered a set of 12 premium apps, free of charge, as way of an apology for problems caused. The apps on offer are:
- SIMS 3
- Texas Hold’em Poker 2
- Bubble Bash 2
- Photo Editor Ultimate
- DriveSafe.ly Pro
- iSpeech Translator Pro
- Drive Safe.ly Enterprise
- Nobex Radio Premium
- Shazam Encore
- Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant
The package is worth around £63 but, with the recent release the iPhone 4GS and Android market share continuing to grow, will it be enough to convince customers to stay with Blackberry? Here at EmptyLemon, we believe that it will take more than a few free games and voice-commanded apps to build back the trust that RIM customers had prior to the outage.
